Life After Death

Virginia Falce underwent "tonsillectomy" operation where the beating of her heart stopped. As far as she can remember, she suddenly went up in the middle of white smoke, then darkness. She was scared but wanted to look into what was happening.

She felt completely love and peace surrounding her coming from a light shining circle. She was not so religious because and do not believe it. But she knew it the light of God and the love and joy that she felt would be a feeling for a lifetime. It sprang to her mind that she had two children and have a duty to fulfil so she should be back.

Based on the medical record of the physician who performed the operation on Mrs. Falce, he had to open her chest to knead her heart that stopped beating with his hand.

The next thing that she remembered was when the doctors and nurses in front of where she was lying asked her how is it to die.

Such accounts of those who experienced the same is not new and in many cases were already heard. The change was the readiness perceived in doctors, surgeons, and scholars to listen to this kind of events for thorough analyzes and research. Even the scientists who were skeptic just believed it its authenticity.

Dr. Elisabeth Kubler Ross, a Psychiatrist and author of "On Death and Dying" has taken lectures in many cases of those who experienced a "near death experience" and they described the "heavenly or glorious experience".

In 1975, Dr. Raymond A. Moody, Jr. also published a book "Life after Life" in which he said that there are more than 100 such events he witnessed.

Psychologist and Professor Kenneth Ring of the University of Connecticut, in the United States had taken a research and seek to a new group of people close to death to gather knowledge about it.

In his research, he realized that his subjects, male and female, of different ages, education and marital status, all mentioned a depth of experience that occurred when they were called "clinically dead ".

1. They say that their souls separate from the body of flesh and they are outside the body of flesh.
2. They can interact with loved ones already gone.
3. The passing shadow is a dark tunnel into a glowing light.
4. Upon reaching brightness, they are being pulled back because sometimes they feel they still have to fulfil a duty to others.

Though the subjects had varied experiences that they described, their answers to the questions are the same, every one is having a great comfort and pleasure and they wanted to stay in this state or condition.

Although the subjects had different line of thinking and spiritual beliefs, they believed that they joined a Powerful Source and they felt tremendous love because they were given the opportunity to see that there is a long life to come after death of a body of flesh.

In his research, Prof. Ring tried to determine if the subjects were given sedatives. This can occur, but in many instances no drugs were administered. Prof. Ring also believed that if a subject is sedated and hypnotic, it may cause the person to lose sight of his experiences especially on when on the brink of death.

Can the experience be a hallucination that could result in a 'toxic shock'? Although it is a reason, but the "hallucination" is messy, not inter-related and largely varied and it differs with individuals. The events narrated are bright and consistent and depends on reality.
